FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS THE°30 CANDLE MADE OF?
North of Thirty candles include a creamy, coconut soy wax that is blended with a complex arrangement of aromatic scents, infused with essential oils, and hand-poured into a sleek vessel. In addition, our candles include a wooden wick that crackles as it burns, reminiscent of wood burning in a fireplace or a campfire.

For additional information about the candle, please see the About N°30 Candles section.

WILL NORTH OF THIRTY OFFER LARGER-SIZED CANDLES?
Yes! While our first product is a 5oz candle, we plan to add a larger 10oz-12oz candle, with an even longer burn time later on this year! In addition, we will offer limited edition 7oz-8oz candles, with burn times up to 60 hours later on this summer/fall.  Subscribe to our email list located at the bottom of our home page  to avoid missing these timely announcements!

WHY SHOULD I TRIM THE WICK OF MY CANDLE?
Trimming the ash and burnt tip of the wooden wick after each burn helps to eliminate sooting and smoking, and ensures a longer, brighter, and cleaner burn. To ensure your candle burns efficiently, trim your wick to at least 1/8" to 1/4" before each use with your North of Thirty wick trimmer.

In addition, trimming your wick can help to prevent the following:

  • Tall and erratic flames while your candle is burning
  • Fierce burning and sparking of the wick which can lead to potential fire hazards and excessive sooting

NOTE: Do not cut the wooden wick too low; cutting too low can prevent the wick from re-lighting. Wooden wicks should be about 1/8" above the wax.

CAN MY N°30 WICK TRIMMER BE USED TO TRIM COTTON WICKS?
Yes. The North of Thirty wick trimmer has a long, angled shaft that makes trimming wooden or cotton wicks in candles of any depth or size easy.

DOES N°30 OFFER CANDLES AT WHOLESALE?
Yes. North of Thirty offers candles at wholesale. For more information, please contact the North of Thirty team at our Contact Us page.

      HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?
The standard shipping rate for North of Thirty products is $8. However, we offer free shipping on all domestic orders over $99.

      DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
No, we do not ship internationally at this moment, but we are working on it!

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR MY CANDLE TO SHIP?
Please allow 7-10 business days for order processing and shipping. USPS Priority and First Class transit times vary per state but typically deliver within 3-4 business days after the order is shipped. Expedited shipping is available upon request for an additional fee. Please see our Shipping Policy for additional information.

NOTE: North of Thirty will ship Monday through Wednesday during the summer months due to extreme high temperatures. We take these precautions to prevent your order from sitting in a warehouse for long periods of time, and potentially melting before it is received.

I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT MY ORDER. HOW CAN I CONTACT YOU?
The North of Thirty team can be contacted via email our Contact Us page for any questions regarding an order.

CAN I UPCYCLE MY N°30 CANDLE VESSEL?
Absolutely! To remove the last bit of wax from your candle, you have  a few options:
      1. You can melt the remaining wax in the oven and pour the melted wax in the trash. Note: Do not pour melted wax down the kitchen or bathroom drains, or toilet.
      2. Alternatively, you can put your candle in the freezer and once the wax hardens, pop the wax out of the vessel, and dispose of it in the trash.
Once you have removed the wax from the vessel, remove all labels and wicks, then wash your vessel using hot water and soap. Finally, wipe  your vessel clean with rubbing alcohol and VOILA! Now your vessel can be used as a travel container, cup, vase, etc.!
